Touristy Thing That's Actually Worth It
The South Haven Lighthouse pier walk. Yes, it's on every postcard. But the walk itself is beautiful, the freighters passing through the channel are surprisingly mesmerizing, and at sunset it's one of the best views in Michigan. All ages, totally free.
Traveling with Kids?
South Haven was basically designed for families. Start in your own fenced backyard with the sandbox and swing set, then explore from there.

Your unique door code comes through Happy Guest once you've wrapped up the rental agreement, ID check, and security hold. It goes live at exactly 4 PM on check-in day.

Walk up the stairs to the front entrance. Enter your code on the keypad. The garage can also be opened with the same code if you need to park one vehicle inside.

Parking: Driveway fits 3-4 vehicles. Additional cars can park on the street in front of the house (free, no permits needed). Please avoid parking in front of neighbors' houses.

From Grand Rapids (GRR): ~1 hr 15 min via I-196  |  From Chicago (MDW): ~2 hr 15 min via I-94

GPS to 620 Broadway St is accurate. Uber/Lyft available in South Haven for drop-off/pickup at the driveway.

The Ground Rules

Nothing crazy. Just a few things that keep the place great for you and everyone after you.

Max 16 guests. All overnight guests need to be registered. Day visitors are fine, but total group (overnight + visitors) may not exceed 16 at any time.

No parties or excessive noise. Family gatherings? Absolutely. That's what this place is for. But keep it chill for the neighbors.

No smoking. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors. Tampering with smoke detectors is a $1,000 fine.

Trash & recycling: Place trash and recycling in their respective bins near the driveway. Take out before checkout.
🕪
Quiet hours: 10 PM to 8 AM. No amplified music outdoors after 10 PM. Keep volumes respectful at all times.
💺
Treat it like your own. Accidents happen. Just let us know. You're responsible for anything beyond normal wear and tear.

🐶 Pet Policy

We're pet friendly! Just let us know ahead of time so we can get things ready. Keep pets supervised and clean up after them.

How Everything Works

🏊 Pool

Private heated above-ground pool (12x20 ft). Open seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend (weather permitting, may extend through October 1). No glass near the pool area. Supervise children at all times.

♨ Hot Tub

Private hot tub in the backyard, open year-round. Drained, cleaned, and refilled before each stay. Swimwear only. No alcohol, food, or glass near the hot tub. Children under 12 should not use it; children under 16 must be supervised. Always replace the cover after use (prevents freezing in cold weather).

🔥 Fire Pit

Propane fire pit in the backyard. A starter supply of propane is provided. Lasts about 7 hours on a full tank. Turn off when not in use and keep covered after to prevent water damage. Never leave unattended.

🍴 Grill

Propane grill in the backyard. A starter supply of propane is provided. Open lid before lighting, preheat 10-15 minutes, and replace the cover when cool.

📺 TV & Streaming

Two 75" Smart TVs in both family rooms. Streaming only (no cable). Log in with your own accounts and log out before you leave.

🌡️ Heating & AC

Central heating and air conditioning throughout the home. Smart thermostat in the main hallway. Adjust manually or via the app. Suggested: 72°F for comfort. When leaving for the day, set to 78°F (summer) or 60°F (winter) to conserve energy.

🧺 Laundry

Private in-unit washer and dryer. Starter detergent provided. Please start a load of towels before checkout.

🍳 Kitchen

Full kitchen with fridge, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, Instant Pot, toaster, and ice maker. Dinnerware for 16, full set of pots, pans, and baking trays. Starter coffee pods provided. Use only dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher.

👶 Baby Gear & Games

Pack-n-play and high chair available. Outdoor play area with sandbox, swings, and slide. Board games and books on the shelves near the dining room. Foosball table in the game area. Please return all toys and games to their spots before checkout.
